Sergio graduated from the University of Messina, Italy, in 2013. After spending 2 years in general practice, Sergio completed a 1-year rotating internship, followed by another internship in small animal cardiology at The Clinica Malpensa referral centre near Milan.

 

Following his internships, Sergio worked at a multi-disciplinary referral centre (Portoni Rossi, Bologna) for 3 years as a cardiology clinician, before moving to the United Kingdom to undergo a specialist cardiology internship program at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists. In September 2022, Sergio started a cardiology internship at Specialist Veterinary Cardiology Consultancy and became an ECVIM-CA Resident in Cardiology in 2023.

Sergio likes all aspects of cardiology with a particular interest in ECG interpretation and electrophysiology. Outside work, Sergio likes sports, particularly crossfit and football, cooking, wine tasting and spending a good time with his family and friends.
