Cedar Referrals started the New Year in style with a hugely successful evening CPD meeting focusing on the “Top 10 Mistakes in the Management of Cardiac Patients”. The event was held on Wednesday 5th February 2020 at the Holiday Inn, Winchester, and was hosted by one of Cedar Referrals’ in-house cardiologists Dr Luca Ferasin. Over 50 delegates attended from far and wide to participate in this fun and interactive pub quiz-style evening in which Luca highlighted some of the common mistakes, myths and legends surrounding small animal cardiology and outlined some useful tips in improving diagnosis and management in cardiac patients. Great food and a free-bar ensured a relaxed atmosphere, before delegates used their mobile phones to participate in the presentation via a fun and interactive live-polling system. Delegates also heard how Cedar Referrals not only accepts standard cardiac referrals at their Alresford-based hospital, but also offers a cost-efficient outpatient echocardiography service. Post-event feedback was excellent, in which delegates commended the buzzing atmosphere and fresh approach to improving cardiology in the modern veterinary practice.
